A total of 19 authors of significant scientific publications, grants and results in contract research received the 2019 Excellence Award of the Director of the Center of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research (CRH). Laureates presented their work at CRH Scientific Board meeting on December 9. PhD students were represented significantly among the laureates.
Ten awards were granted out of a total of twenty nominated publications. In four cases, the prize was awarded for a set of two to three articles. “We took into account the quality of the magazine in which the paper was published. We also considered whether the author had more than one nominations. It is gratifying that in comparison with previous years we could appreciate more publications of our PhD students. About half of the laureates in the Publications category were PhD students,” said CRH Director Ivo Frébort.
Grant recipiets have traditionally been appreciated as well. This year, six were nominated, five were awarded. The prize for contract research was given to Roman Kouřil from the Department of Biophysics. The list of all laureates is available here.
Scientific Board members of the CRH also received an update on the projects of Operational Program Research, Development and Education, namely Plants as a Means of Sustainable Global Development project from the Excellent Research call as well as on the Development of pre-application research in nano- and biotechnologies project - Pre-application research for ITI.
